Job Summary: 

Everest is seeking an Engineering Lead to drive the execution of our global technology strategy. In this position, you will apply strong technical acumen and leadership in partnership with business counterparts to effectively define, plan, and support the delivery of technical solutions that support business outcomes in service to Everest's strategy. 

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineering teams during the analysis, development, and testing processes. 
  • Provide expert knowledge of technical and application architecture to various development teams. 
  • Develop and architect cloud and cloud-native engineering solutions within Microsoft Azure Cloud. 
  • Identify technical risks associated with application implementation. 
  • Define architecture and engineering practices, recommending appropriate solutions based on a strong understanding of technology and business needs. 

 

Qualifications, Education & Experience: 

  • 15 years of overall technology experience in engineering, architecture,  configuring, and implementing software solutions and services. 

  • 10 years of software engineering experience, including engineering practices, tools, and standards. 

  • 5 years of successful technology leadership experience at an enterprise level within a company or as a consultant. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a highly matrixed organization through a combination of influence, partnership, and authority. 

  • Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams. 

  • Hands-on knowledge of current technology standards/trends coupled with a desire to continually expand personal knowledge/skills. 

  • Domain knowledge of the Insurance Industry and value chain, as well as the technologies and solutions relevant to this industry, is desired. 

  • Ability and interest in mentoring technical staff and raising our collective technical competencies. 

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with other business and technology leaders. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:  

  

  • Azure Stack: Extensive hands-on experience with Azure services and solutions, including designing, implementing, and managing Azure-based architectures.   

  • Kubernetes: Proficiency in deploying, managing, and orchestrating containerized applications using Kubernetes. 

  • Event-Driven Architecture: Strong knowledge and practical experience with event-driven architecture patterns and implementations. 

  • Team Leadership: Proven experience leading and mentoring technical teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. 

  • API Design: Expertise in designing, building, and managing robust and scalable APIs. 

  • Cloud Patterns: Deep understanding of security best practices and patterns for cloud environments, including implementing security controls and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
