Key responsibilities
Support the expansion of the Europe Casualty account across Continental Europe in line with Everest International Group plans and underwriting strategy
Support the expansion of the Industry Practices Segment in line with Everest International Group plans and underwriting strategy, whilst maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit.
Develop, articulate and implement the underwriting strategy for areas of responsibility.
Actively participate in execution of the marketing plan, including development of broker and customer relationships and developing new relationships, where this is consistent with the objectives set in the Business Plan
Actively invest in and be able to demonstrate an expansion of underwriting and product knowledge, through dedicated training and working with the CUO Office and Casualty International management team to develop the portfolio.
Develop and manage a portfolio of business across Europe, ensuring that all business is serviced effectively.
Represent Everest at meetings and undertake appropriate visits to brokers and clients as required.
Monitor all relevant portfolio KPIs and understand, remediate and justify these where required
Liaise with Claims Management and the wider team on claims related issues.
Work with the actuarial team to effectively price individual risks and add influence to our rating process.
To monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance.
To assist in the improvement of rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, marketing materials, website as required
Candidate Profile – Knowledge Skills Experience
Significant experience within a Casualty underwriting role as well as excellent technical knowledge of European Casualty business.
Professional qualifications
Strategic skills – clear ability to determine opportunities and threats through comprehensive analysis of current and future trends that may impact our business.
Judgment / decision making skills – shows ability to use logic, rationality and objectivity in decision making
Risk taking – show the ability to develop a sound underwriting view to take calculated risks with favourable outcomes.
Compliance – ability to understand and ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls, with appropriate support.
Market and product knowledge – ability to maintain and develop market knowledge including competitor profiles and products
Relationship building – proven ability in building relationships both internally and externally.
