Role Purpose:
- The London Transactional Risks team is looking to hire a junior underwriter to assist the underwriting team with managing submissions and transactions in underwriting.
Key Accountabilities:
- Join the Transactional Risks team as they underwrite Warranty & Indemnity, Tax, and Contingent Liability insurance policies
- Monitoring and managing submissions from our trading partners
- Meeting brokers and building relationships
- Assisting with risk selection by analysing and assessing risks for discussion with the team
- Reviewing non-disclosure agreements, non-reliance letters and other simple agreements
- Reviewing transaction documentation which will be relevant to the risk
- Preparing non-binding indications (quotes), policy drafts and underwriting risks
- Managing transactions in underwriting including participating on underwriting calls
- Training and managing our underwriting assistants
Qualifications / Experience:
- 2:1 Degree or equivalent
- Desirable: experience in the W&I market
- Desirable: Paralegal experience in a corporate law firm or in-house/ M&A experience in an accountancy or tax practice or other due diligence provider
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to organise and prioritise quickly
- Very good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
- Good analytic skills
- Using initiative and being proactive
- Team player
- Enthusiastic and keen with a view to career progression
