This is a new position which will focus on establishing and growing Everest’s Aerospace portfolio in Germany. The role holder will lead the development and execution of our Aerospace insurance business which will include driving the achievement of our objectives for profitability, growth, service excellence, and producer relations.
Role Purpose:
To lead the expansion of the Aviation Aerospace book of accounts, in line with company plans whilst maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery of Everest internal plans.
To refer risks as appropriate that exceed prescribed underwriting authority.
To assist in developing a marketing plan with the Underwriting team and local management, whilst maintaining and expanding existing broker relationships, and developing new relationships where this is consistent with the objectives set in the Business Plan.
To represent Everest Insurance International at meetings in the Everest office and during visits to brokers and other customers as required.
To monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance.
To liaise with the Claims Manager on claims related issues and participate in account and portfolio reviews.
To assist in expanding the current product range to allow Everest to compete with the market leaders in the sector including products
To assist in the preparation of the business plan, statistics and documentation as required.
To contribute to the regular analysis and review of underwriting practices and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
To participate in the quarterly underwriting peer review process.
To assist in the improvement of the Company’s management information systems, rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, marketing materials, website and risk management and claims functions.
To assist with the completion and review of strategic underwriting guidelines & pricing models.
Underwrite in compliance with Everest prescribed underwriting standards
Our ideal candidate – Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Aerospace insurance expert, with extensive experience in a similar role; handling a reliable, structured and profitable book of accounts
Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business and proven record of delivering meaningful underwriting profit
Credible senior underwriter with leadership and relationships building skills
Highly collaborative and able to work effectively with peers
Technically strong with the ability to inspire confidence at both client and regulatory level
Results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a changing environment.
Able to think strategically and be able to translate thinking into tangible plans to drive the business to achieve agreed goals.
Significant experience in large, complex account management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
