About the Job
We are recruiting for a Property Senior Underwriter to be based in our Singapore Insurance office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.
Expanding and growing Everest’s Property Portfolio. As a pivotal member of our team, you will play a key role in driving the achievement of our objectives for profitability, growth, service excellence, and producer relations.
Key Accountabilities
Underwrite in compliance with Everest prescribed underwriting standards and refer as appropriate risks exceeding prescribed underwriting authority
Monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance
Actively participate in the development & execution of the marketing plan, broker & customer relationships, in a manner consistent with the objectives of the business plan
Represent Everest at internal and external meetings with brokers, clients and other customers / stakeholders as required
Ensure all processing, Cat models and management reporting is managed to a high standard
Participate in the underwriting peer review process as required and ensuring compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls
Business travel as required to support the above objectives
Ad-hoc duties will be assigned, as appropriate
Professional Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree, or comparable Business Degree
Demonstrated underwriting ability and technical competence as evidenced by a minimum of 10+ years’ professional experience
Working experience across Asia in wholesale market.
Ability to stay organized in a fast paced and high intensity work environment with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
Willing to take initiative, function independently and be entrepreneurial with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism
Commitment to customer service as a differentiator
A preference for working collaboratively with colleagues
Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication
Effective negotiation skills with the ability to find “win/win” solutions
