Job Summary:

Everest Global Services, Inc., a division of Everest Group, Ltd., has an opportunity for Sustainability Analyst in the Law Department of our Warren, NJ headquarters. This individual will be responsible for assisting the department with environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) initiatives and public company reporting and governance, including the annual proxy statement.   At Everest, we believe that a sustainable future for our company must encompass the values most important to our customers, employees and the communities in which we operate. This role will form a key part of Everest’s ESG efforts and initiatives, as well as other corporate governance matters within the Law Department and will report to the SVP, Chief of ESG Reporting.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with all aspects of Everest’s ESG disclosures and reports

  • Gather information from key internal stakeholders to assist with preparation of  Everest’s Corporate Responsibility Report

  • Help prepare presentations for executive management related to ESG issues

  • Assist with implementation of ESG best practices, and interact with various stakeholders of the company to create and monitor ESG content

  • Research regarding ESG reporting frameworks and ESG rating agency requirements and disclosure protocols

  • Draft responses to climate or broader ESG surveys from clients, regulators, rating agencies, or investors

  • Perform peer analysis regarding ESG best practices and monitor industry trends

  • Assist with all aspects of preparing Everest’s annual shareholder proxy statement and related materials

  • Engagement with the company’s external proxy advisors and monitoring of scoring dashboards

  • Gather data and create inventory of the company’s greenhouse gas (GHG)  emissions globally

  • Liaise with senior managers and executives, and assist other paralegals within the Law Department;

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree, preferably in Sustainability or Environmental Studies

  • Basic subject matter expertise in ESG, climate and sustainability reporting frameworks, including TCFD, GRI, SASB, ISSB, preferred.

  • Familiarity with global climate change regulations, including SEC, European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, as well as California and other state regulations, preferred

  • Prefer familiarity with public company reporting and disclosure

  • Prefer at least three (3) years of experience in a corporate, governmental, and/or legal environment, with focus on Sustainability topics. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to assist with drafting work-product in various formats (e.g., internal memoranda, website, annual proxy, ESG reports, etc.).

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with strong computer and technical skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Capable of handling multiple projects with varying deadlines.

  • The candidate must also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to flourish in a ‘team’ environment and also work independently.
