Job Summary:

The position seeks a highly skilled Power BI Developer preferably with a background in reinsurance to join our Business Performance & Analytics team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights into business performance. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, translating business requirements into effective technical solutions, and ensuring that the data presented is accurate and relevant. Skilled in performing comprehensive data analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning will be a must.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that effectively visualize reinsurance data and performance metrics.
  • Create data models and implement DAX calculations to provide meaningful insights and support business objectives.
  • Perform detailed analysis of reinsurance data, including underwriting, claims, and financial performance, to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data findings and collaborate with stakeholders to implement data-driven strategies.
  • Work with internal users to understand their reporting and data analysis needs, gathering requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support ongoing reporting and analysis needs.
  • Provide support for Power BI reports and dashboards, troubleshooting issues and making necessary updates or enhancements.
  • Create and maintain documentation for Power BI reports, data models, and analysis methodologies.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of corporate work experience and/or experience in Information Technology (IT) industry
  • BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or related field
  • Work experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:  

  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer and Data Analyst, with a strong background in the reinsurance industry or related financial services.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Solid experience with SQL and data manipulation tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
  • Expertise in data analysis, statistical methods, and data visualization techniques.
  • Ability to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for business improvement based on data analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with stakeholders and gathering requirements.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis, report development, and documentation.
