About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative leader to guide our Asia Claims function, driving growth and building our infrastructure for the future. As the Head of Asia Claims, you’ll lead our Claims team across diverse lines of business, balancing strategic vision with hands-on leadership. You’ll work closely with regional and product leadership to deliver customized claims solutions that support our clients’ complex needs. This role involves shaping the future of our Claims function while also addressing immediate business needs, particularly in Financial Lines and Casualty claims. Your expertise and vision will be pivotal as we grow our footprint in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Lead and develop the Asia Claims function, aligning strategies with business objectives for optimal impact.
Directly oversee large and complex claims across multiple lines, ensuring efficient handling of systemic issues.
Partner with internal stakeholders to embed Claims capabilities within business plans and promote our brand in the Asia market.
Build and scale the team while actively contributing to day-to-day claims operations, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.
Operational Excellence
Oversee Asia Claims operations, collaborating with global Claims leadership to build robust infrastructure.
Leverage data and analytics to communicate performance trends and optimize Claims processes.
Work with vendor teams to manage Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and service providers, ensuring quality and compliance.
Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts, adjusting strategies to meet regional market demands.
People & Culture
Build and nurture a diverse and inclusive team, fostering a collaborative culture where every team member feels empowered.
Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and develop training plans to support continuous growth.
Partner with HR on personnel and team remuneration matters, ensuring fairness and equity in all decisions.
What You Bring
Proven experience as a hands-on Claims leader, with extensive technical expertise in complex claims handling.
Expertise in managing high-stakes, complex Financial Lines and Casualty claims across multiple lines of business.
Skilled in third-party claims management and overseeing the performance of external experts.
A strategic mindset, with adaptability and comfort in navigating ambiguity and growth in a startup-like environment.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment, with a respect for diverse perspectives.
Qualifications
Legally qualified or degree-educated with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the insurance sector.
Experience handling litigious third-party claims in Financial Lines and Casualty sectors, preferably with expertise in Asia.
