It’s good to know that there are options to move within the company and experience new things.
Nicol Kellerman
Vice President, Finance and Controller, Warren, NJ

What is your role, and how has it changed over time?

I started my Everest career in Internal Audit, where I was tasked with reviewing and optimizing our processes and controls. When I made the switch to the Finance team, I got the opportunity to implement some of those changes, but I also obtained a better understanding of why certain processes and functions operate the way that they do.

How have you been able to use your skills to transition to new roles at Everest?

Having a background in audit and accounting created a good foundation for my current role. It ensures that I approach my work with the same controls-based mindset which in turn reduces operational risk. In my role with Internal Audit, I had the opportunity to see all facets of the business and meet various senior leaders, and the relationships I built then helped me as I transferred to my new role within Finance.

How has moving into new roles/new countries impacted your experience at Everest?

The fact that I could move internally to a new role shows that there are career advancement opportunities within the organization, even if it’s not in the same department as where you are currently working. It’s good to know that there are options to move within the company and experience new things.
