Bill Hazelton is Executive Vice President, Everest Insurance® and President, North America Insurance.
In his role as President, Bill leads day-to-day executive operations responsibility for all aspects of Everest’s North America Insurance portfolio, the division’s largest. Everest’s North America Insurance business spans the United States, Canada, and Bermuda, with products encompassing Commercial Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, and Specialty Lines via retail brokers in the middle market and national account sectors; Excess and Surplus Lines products via its Everest Evolution™ wholesale brand and wholesale distribution partners; as well as Aviation, Accident and Health, and Industry Practice solutions through its North America operation. Everest Bermuda serves its trading partners with Financial Lines products and Property and Casualty solutions, often in higher excess layers of insurance towers.
Bill has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience, serving most recently as Head of U.S. Retail Casualty and Industry Practices for Everest Insurance North America. Prior to joining Everest in 2024, Bill led a new strategic initiative as the Head of North America Industry Practices at Chubb, and served as Head of North America Claims, where he managed staff and all product lines across retail, wholesale, and personal line divisions in the United States and Canada.
Bill joined Chubb (then named ACE) in 2005 and advanced through a series of senior executive positions for numerous casualty and specialty business divisions as the Executive Vice President of Environmental, Construction, Excess Casualty, and Real Estate. Previously, he served as Director of Field Operations, Chubb Environmental Solutions and Quanta Holdings. Bill began his career in claims as a Manager and Home Office Supervisor at AIG Technical Services before moving to an underwriting role at AIG Environmental.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and History from James Madison University and a Master of Arts degree in History from Rutgers University. He sits on the Board of Directors at American Forests and is the recipient of multiple Business Insurance Risk Innovator and industry awards.
