Head of Actuarial Pricing – International, Zurich, Switzerland
What is your role, and how has it changed over time?
I initially joined Everest as AVP and Actuary for the Bermuda office. In this role I built out the actuarial function and grew the Bermuda actuarial team. I was later promoted to VP, Lead Actuary in Bermuda. Recently, I took on a new role at the Group level and relocated to Zurich as Head of Actuarial Pricing - International. This is an exciting opportunity to manage the lead branch actuaries across the international segment, serving as a bridge between the branches and home office, and encourage more frequent collaboration working together as a cohesive team.
How have you been able to use your skills to transition to new roles at Everest?
My strong analytical skills and aptitude for building efficient systems and processes allowed me to add value and grow in areas outside my department and daily function. This made for an easier transition to new roles and projects given my broad view of how various functions are connected. Developing my people skills was also critical to each transition. I believe learning to work effectively within various teams comprised of multiple personalities, abilities, and cultures, while maintaining focus on the greater good of the overall team or company, opened paths for me to take on new roles.
How has moving into new roles/new countries impacted your experience at Everest?
Moving roles and countries enabled me to interact and make meaningful connections with many of my colleagues around the globe. This helped cement my sense of belonging and value to the Everest community. The ability to work across a diverse group of talented colleagues has provided a rewarding learning experience. Furthermore, the investments the company makes in me, entrusting me with new roles, has solidified my confidence in my ability as a leader and further fueled my desire to grow in my career with Everest.
