Each policy clearly sets out the terms and conditions of cover, including the responsibilities of the insured and the conditions under which payments will be made in the event of a claim.   Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A. is in the city of Bogotá D.C., at Carrera 7 No. 71-52, Torre B, Office 1001. Our office hours are as follows:

  Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

• Basic coverages and policy exclusions

  The insurance policies offered by Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A. cover a wide range of risks, which are specifically detailed in the General Conditions of each of our products. It is important that before purchasing any product with us or through insurance intermediaries, you learn about the product offering and understand the general conditions, i.e., rights, obligations, costs and check the detailed exclusions that could limit the right to obtain compensation. Our teams and insurance agents are trained to explain these terms in detail and to ensure that you have a full understanding before entering into a contract with us.

• Procedure for obtaining insurance payment

  In the event of a claim, our customers must follow a clear and defined process to obtain payment. This includes timely notification of the claim through our website (see the Claim notice link, or by submitting the claim via email to siniestroscol@everestglobal.com or through your insurance intermediary who will guide you through the necessary documentation to expedite the claim process).

  Please note that the compensation amounts in the event of a claim, and provided that you are covered, will be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insurance and the insured amounts reported by the Policyholder.

• Deadlines and how to prove the occurrence of the claim

  It is important to meet the deadlines for reporting a claim and to provide the necessary documentation for support. This will ensure that we can process your claim on time and efficiently.

  It is important that you are aware of the requirements and conditions set out in the Terms and Conditions of our products, which can be consulted below.   Please note that for Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A., the payment of claims must be made in accordance with the regulatory guidelines and, if possible, in a shorter time. The above, in accordance with Article 1.080 of the Colombian Commercial Code.

• Coinsurance, subrogation, transfer of insurable interest, and other concepts

  For a clear understanding of these concepts, we invite you to consult the Practical Guide to Financial Education. Similarly, our insurance agents are required by law to educate you about insurance concepts and to increase your knowledge of these concepts.

• Procedure for the refund of premiums

  In the event of insurance cancellation, if you purchased the insurance directly from Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A., you will be entitled to a refund of the unearned premium. If the cancellation is the result of a decision made by the policyholder, Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A. will return the unearned premium, deducting the short-term interest rate agreed in the policy conditions. If the cancellation of the insurance is decided by Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A., we will return the unearned premium.

  Once you have submitted the cancellation request, our underwriting team will give you the instructions on how to return the premium. The above also applies if the cancellation request is reported by your insurance agent, who will provide you with the appropriate information for the premium refund process.

  Please note that the level of underinsurance (we invite you to consult the Practical Guide to Financial Education), has legal consequences on your compensation.

• Obligation to declare the condition of the risk

  It is important that you, as the insured party, truthfully declare the state of the risk when Everest Compañía de Seguros Generales Colombia S.A. assume your risks, or when this is modified during the term of the insurance contract. The non-declaration or inaccurate declaration of the state of the risk has legal consequences, as established in Article 1058 of the Colombian Commercial Code.
